For this fall, tvN has set out to organize a splendid lineup. ‘Parasite’ Jo Yeo-jeong, who renewed her life’s character through the movie ‘Parasite’, Kim Go-eun, a famous young star, and Han Ye-ri, who captivated the world with the movie ‘Minari’, are on a scramble. Can tvN breathe new vitality out of the swamp of viewership ratings that have been low for a while?
Jo Yeo-jeong will appear in tvN’s new Monday-Tuesday drama ‘High Class’, which will premiere on September 6th. ‘High Class’ is a mystery drama that takes place at a luxurious international school located on an island like paradise, where she gets entangled with the woman of her dead husband.
Jo Yeo-jeong takes on the role of Song Yeo-wool, an ex-lawyer who lost everything overnight after being accused of her husband’s murder. Song Yeo-wool goes to an international school to protect her 8-year-old son in a nightmare-like reality, but becomes an ugly duckling as malicious rumors spread among mothers.
About the reason for appearing, Jo Yeo-jeong said, “When I first read the script, I felt that the lives of women gathered on a paradise island were difficult and sad. So I wanted to melt directly into it and express the lives and conflicts of women.”
Previously, Jo Yeo-jeong became a hot topic by transforming herself into a short cut for her character. She said, “I always listen to the style of the character that the stylist imaged, and then I pick the character in the order that materializes the person.” She said, “After hearing the image of Song Yeo-Wol that the stylist thought of, I was perfect with the woman named Song Yeo-Wol that came to my mind. I fell off and changed into a short cut. I’m very satisfied with both the hair and the outfit.”
On the other hand, Jo Yeo-jeong has renewed her character in life, such as enjoying the glory of the Academy through the movie ‘Parasite’ in 2019. It is noteworthy whether she will be able to renew her life character once again based on his solid acting skills.
In tvN’s new Friday-Saturday drama ‘Yumi’s Cells’, which airs its first episode on September 17, Kim Go-eun plays Yu-mi, an ordinary office worker. Based on a webtoon of the same name with a cumulative number of views of 3.2 billion, it is an episode of empathy that expresses the story of Yumi, an ordinary office worker in her 30s, through the eyes of cells in her head. He works with Ahn Bo-hyeon, who plays the game developer Goo Woong.
Yu-mi, played by Kim Go-eun, is an ordinary woman who is clumsy in expressing her emotions. However, she is a person who grows up through love and work and finds happiness in the little things in everyday life. Through the activities of the cells dedicated to Yumi’s happiness, it will vividly show the various worries and emotions that anyone would have experienced if they had love and dreams.
Kim Go-eun, who showed off her unique yet lovely charm through a number of previous works. I am already curious about what Yumi will look like that she will draw. In particular, Kim Go-eun challenged a new transformation, such as a short bob haircut for this work. She picked ‘Cell’ as the point to watch and said, “Yumi is an ordinary but special person who has a special ‘my side’. She always cheers for Yumi, and the cells keep their heads together so that Yumi can be happy and happy. It gives me hope,” she said.
Han Ye-ri will appear in tvN’s new Wednesday-Thursday drama ‘Hometown’, which will start airing on September 22. ‘Hometown’ is a 1999 mystery thriller in which a detective (Yoo Jae-myung) who is chasing a murder case and a woman (Han Ye-ri) who is searching for her abducted niece uncover the secrets of the worst terrorist in history (Um Tae-goo).
Han Ye-ri takes on the role of Jo Jung-hyeon, who endures the social stigma of being a terrorist’s family. Jo Jung-hyeon, who ironically reconstructed a life destroyed by her brother’s crimes through his daughter Jo Jae-young (Lee Re), faces tragedy again when her nephew, whom she treasures like her life, disappears. Yoo Jae-myung and Uhm Tae-goo, among others, are expected to join the group and create explosive synergy.
Han Ye-ri said, “I was drawn to the work by curiosity about the genre of mystery thriller and the interesting script.” She explained, “Unlike other thrillers, supernatural things happen in mystery thrillers, and there is a charm in seeing them until the end because they don’t tell us whether it is a supernatural thing or whether it originates from humans.”
Han Ye-ri, who captured the world through ‘Minari’, chose a mystery thriller as her first step. Interest is focused on the performance she will show, who has already proven her outstanding acting skills by everyone.
