Cha Eun-woo confirmed to appear in ‘Island’, working with Kim Nam-gil and Da-hee

Cha Eun-woo is expected to shake the hearts of viewers once again by challenging the genre with the drama ‘Island’ (directed by Bae Jong).

On the 28th, Fantagio’s agency said, “Cha Eun-woo has been cast in the new drama ‘Island’. Through the role of exorcist ‘John’, he will show a new image that you have never seen before, so please look forward to it and pay attention.”

‘Island’ is a Korean fantasy hero drama based on a webtoon of the same name. Set on the beautiful island of Jeju Island in the southern sea, it depicts the sad and bizarre journey of characters who have a destiny to fight against the evil that is trying to destroy the world.

Cha Eun-woo, who challenges the first genre after debut, takes on the role of ‘John’, a hip Catholic exorcist. ‘John’ is a cheerful boy apostle with a noble vocation to purify evil and protect life. Unlike his bright appearance, he has a grim and dark past. Cha Eun-woo plans to express variously from the innocent charm of the character in the play to the heartbreaking narrative.

Cha Eun-woo has starred in various dramas such as ‘My ID is Gangnam Beauty’, ‘Rookie Historian Goo Hae-ryeong’, and ‘True Beauty‘, and has made a mark with his warm visuals and extraordinary character digestibility. In particular, in ‘True Beauty’, which ended in February, he played the role of ‘Lee Soo-ho’ and was loved for his high synchronization rate with the original webtoon character and his improved acting skills.

Since then, as interest in the next work has continued, the news of ‘Island’ appearing is expected to be a gift to the public who have been waiting for Cha Eun-woo’s acting transformation, raising expectations.

As such, Cha Eun-woo is active in various fields as an ‘all-round entertainer’ by successfully completing the activities of acting, entertainment, and advertising, as well as ASTRO’s 8th mini album ‘SWITCH ON’, which was released in August. Attention is drawn to Cha Eun-woo’s move, which heralded another new challenge through the drama ‘Island’.

Meanwhile, the new drama ‘Island’, which Cha Eun-woo has confirmed to appear in, is scheduled to air in the first half of next year.
